About the Ferrari 348
The Ferrari 348 tb (Trasversale Berlinetta) was a significant departure from the 328 it replaced, featuring a pressed steel monocoque and a longitudinal V8 engine. Its 't' designation refers to the transverse gearbox, a layout inspired by Ferrari's 312T Formula 1 cars to improve weight distribution. Stylistically, it borrowed heavily from the Testarossa, most notably in its straked side air intakes and rectangular rear light grilles. While early cars faced criticism for nervous handling at the limit, the 348 is now appreciated as the final V8 model developed under Enzo Ferrari's oversight and a pure, analogue driving experience.
