About the Aston Martin DB11
Introduced in 2017 as a more agile alternative to the V12 flagship, the DB11 V8 features a bespoke-tuned Mercedes-AMG M177 engine. By shedding 115kg—mostly from the front axle—it offers a more balanced 49:51 weight distribution and sharper turn-in than its larger-engined sibling. It marked the first significant fruit of the technical partnership between Aston Martin and Daimler, blending German powertrain efficiency with British design. While technically the entry-level model, many critics preferred its more boisterous character and improved handling over the original V12.

Aston Martin DB11 fun facts
- The V8 engine is mounted as far back in the chassis as possible to achieve a front mid-engined layout, improving the car's center of gravity.
- To ensure it sounded like an Aston Martin, engineers developed a unique air intake, exhaust system, and slimline wet-sump lubrication system.
- The DB11 features 'AeroBlade' technology, which uses air intakes in the C-pillars to channel air through the body and out of a slot in the boot lid, acting like a virtual spoiler.
