About the Ferrari 330 America

The 330 America was a transitional model produced in late 1963, effectively serving as a bridge between the 250 GTE and the 330 GT 2+2. It utilised the chassis and Pininfarina-designed body of the Series III 250 GTE but replaced the 3.0-litre engine with the new 4.0-litre Type 209 V12. This upgrade provided a significant boost in performance, making it one of the fastest four-seater cars of its time. Only 50 examples were built, making it significantly rarer than the models that preceded and followed it.

Ferrari 330 America fun facts

  • Visually, the 330 America is almost identical to the late 250 GTE, with the '330' badge on the boot lid being the primary external identifier.
  • The Type 209 V12 engine used in this car was a 'long-block' design derived from the 400 Superamerica, producing a healthy 300 horsepower.
  • Because it shares the 250 GTE's aesthetics but possesses superior power, it is highly sought after by collectors who prefer the classic 250 look.
