About the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa
The 250 Testa Rossa was developed for the 1958 racing season to comply with new FIA regulations limiting engine displacement to 3.0 litres. Its most striking feature is the 'pontoon-fender' bodywork by Scaglietti, designed to channel air to the drum brakes, though this was later replaced by more conventional shapes for better stability. Powered by the reliable Colombo V12 with six Weber carburettors, it became one of Ferrari's most successful sports racers, securing three World Sportscar Championship titles. Today, it is among the most valuable and sought-after collector cars in existence.
