About the Chevrolet Matiz M200

The M200-generation Matiz arrived in 2005 as a significant evolution of the original Italdesign Giugiaro-penned Daewoo, now wearing the Chevrolet bowtie. It was designed primarily for urban environments, featuring a tiny 796cc three-cylinder engine and a distinctive centre-mounted instrument cluster to reduce manufacturing costs for left- and right-hand drive markets. While its performance is modest, the Matiz gained a reputation for being exceptionally easy to park and cheap to run, particularly after a 2008 revision brought CO2 emissions below 120g/km. Today, it remains a common sight on UK roads as a functional, no-frills second car or a first vehicle for new drivers.
