About the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
The sixth-generation Camaro ZL1 marked a radical shift for the nameplate, moving from a blunt-force muscle car to a precision-engineered track weapon. Built on the lightweight Alpha platform shared with Cadillac's performance saloons, it shed nearly 100kg compared to its predecessor while gaining the LT4 supercharged V8 from the Corvette Z06. Standard equipment included Magnetic Ride Control, an electronic limited-slip differential, and 11 heat exchangers to ensure endurance during heavy track use. It famously proved its mettle at the Nürburgring, where it recorded a 7:29.60 lap time, placing it in the company of dedicated European exotics.
