About the Caterham CT03

Designed by Mark Smith and Lewis Butler, the CT03 was unveiled at Jerez on the eve of 2013 testing, with Charles Pic and Giedo van der Garde as its drivers. It used a Renault 2.4-litre V8 with KERS and a Red Bull Technology seven-speed gearbox. During pre-season testing Lotus technical director James Allison questioned its exhaust outlet bodywork, and the FIA later deemed the system illegal. A major upgrade after the first three races added a vanity panel over the stepped nose, but the car scored no points and Caterham finished 11th in the Constructors' Championship, with 14th place as its best result.
