About the Cadillac SRX
The first-generation Cadillac SRX was a bold departure for the brand, built on the rear-wheel-drive Sigma platform shared with the CTS sedan. Unlike its truck-based Escalade sibling, the SRX focused on on-road dynamics, offering a lower centre of gravity and a sophisticated multi-link suspension. The 2008 model year benefited from a significantly upgraded interior introduced in 2007, replacing the original plastic-heavy cabin with hand-wrapped surfaces and wood trim. While the V8 Northstar was the flagship, the 3.6-litre V6 provided a balanced entry point into Cadillac's 'Art and Science' design era.
