About the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport
The Grand Sport is the targa-top evolution of the record-breaking Veyron 16.4, engineered to maintain structural rigidity without a fixed roof. It features a reinforced monocoque, carbon-fibre doors, and a removable polycarbonate roof panel that allows for a 407 km/h top speed when fitted. With the roof removed, the car is electronically limited to 360 km/h, still making it one of the fastest roadsters ever produced. Collectors prize the Grand Sport for its unique blend of extreme mechanical complexity and the visceral experience of hearing the quad-turbo W16's intake directly behind the cabin.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport fun facts
- The Grand Sport includes a temporary 'umbrella' fabric roof for emergencies, which limits the car's speed to just 130 km/h (80 mph).
- To compensate for the loss of the roof, Bugatti redesigned the air intakes to include 10-centimetre wide carbon-fibre elements that act as roll-over protection.
- The first production Grand Sport (Chassis 001) was sold at the 2008 Pebble Beach auction for $3.19 million, with the proceeds going to charity.
