About the Bentley Turbo R
The Bentley Turbo R was the definitive high-performance luxury saloon of the late 1980s and early 1990s, succeeding the Mulsanne Turbo. It introduced significant suspension upgrades, including increased roll stiffness and improved damping, to handle the immense torque of the 'six-and-three-quarter' litre V8. The 1992 model year benefited from the introduction of the GM 4L80-E four-speed automatic transmission, providing smoother shifts and better cruising refinement. It remains a pinnacle of Crewe craftsmanship, blending a hand-stitched leather and wood-veneer interior with surprising pace for its massive kerb weight.
