About the Bentley Continental GT
The second-generation Continental GT, launched for the 2011 model year, refined the formula that saved Bentley under Volkswagen ownership. While it retained the iconic silhouette of the original, the 'Gen 2' featured sharper 'superformed' aluminium body lines and a significantly updated interior with a much-needed new infotainment system. The 6.0-litre W12 engine was uprated to 567 hp, providing effortless, locomotive-like acceleration paired with a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system for improved handling. It remains a benchmark for cross-continental travel, offering a level of cabin craftsmanship and road presence that few rivals can match.

Bentley Continental GT fun facts
- The second-generation body panels were created using 'superforming', a process where aluminium is heated to 500°C and shaped by air pressure to achieve sharper creases.
- Despite its massive performance, the W12 engine was designed to be exceptionally compact, essentially consisting of two narrow-angle V6 engines sharing a single crankshaft.
- The 2013 W12 model still utilised a 6-speed ZF transmission, whereas the new-for-2013 V8 and GT Speed variants were the first to receive the 8-speed unit.
