About the Aston Martin Rapide
The Rapide S arrived in 2013 as a significant evolution of Aston Martin's four-door flagship, replacing the standard Rapide with more aggressive styling and a substantial power hike. Built on a stretched version of the VH platform, it features the 'AM11' V12 engine and signature 'swan wing' doors that rise at a 12-degree angle to clear kerbs. While the rear seating is famously snug for a car of its length, the Rapide S offers a driving experience closer to a DB9 than a traditional luxury saloon, benefiting from a near-perfect 48:52 weight distribution. For the 2014 model year, it retained the six-speed Touchtronic II gearbox before transitioning to an eight-speed unit late in the year.
