About the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
The SLS AMG entered production in 2010, reviving the dramatic gullwing-door idea of the 1950s 300 SL. Its dry-sump M159 V8 sits behind the front axle and sends power to a dual-clutch gearbox mounted at the rear. An aluminium spaceframe supports a long-bonnet, two-seat body designed for both grand touring and serious performance. These figures describe the original coupé before the GT upgrade; Romans International estimates about 8,000 standard coupés worldwide.
