About the Alpine A290
The Alpine A290 is the brand's first fully electric model, based on the AmpR Small platform shared with the Renault 5 E-Tech. As the range-topping GTS trim, it features a 220 hp motor and a bespoke chassis setup with hydraulic bump stops and multi-link rear suspension to ensure agility worthy of the Alpine name. Design cues like the X-shaped driving lights and flared arches pay homage to the brand's rally heritage and the iconic Renault 5 Turbo. It is designed to be a driver-focused 'urban sports car', prioritising handling and engagement over outright straight-line speed.
