About the Alfa Romeo 1900
The Alfa Romeo 1900, introduced in 1950, was a landmark shift for the marque as its first model built entirely on a production line and the first to feature a unitary chassis. The 'Super' variant arrived in 1954, featuring the enlarged 1,975cc engine which provided improved performance for the four-door Berlina body. It was marketed with the slogan 'the family car that wins races,' a nod to its success in the Targa Florio and Stella Alpina. Its combination of a sophisticated twin-cam engine and agile handling made it one of the most capable sporting saloons of the 1950s.
