About the Alfa Romeo 156 GTA

The 156 GTA was Alfa Romeo's high-performance flagship, named in honour of the 1960s Gran Turismo Alleggerita. It is defined by the final 3.2-litre iteration of Giuseppe Busso's V6 engine, celebrated for its operatic soundtrack and immediate throttle response. While its front-wheel-drive layout struggled to contain the power without an LSD, the car featured a bespoke steering rack with just 1.7 turns lock-to-lock, making it exceptionally sharp. Today, it is a sought-after modern classic, prized for its styling and one of the greatest engines ever fitted to a production saloon.
