About the Alfa Romeo 155

The Alfa Romeo 155 replaced the rear-wheel-drive 75, marking a controversial shift to a front-wheel-drive platform shared with the Fiat Tempra. Despite initial purist skepticism, the 155 earned its stripes through a dominant motorsport career, most notably winning the 1993 DTM championship. The 1995 'widebody' update introduced flared arches and a quicker steering rack, significantly improving the car's agility and presence. The 2.0-litre Twin Spark 16V engine is a highlight, offering a rev-happy character and a distinctive intake note that defines the era's Italian sports saloon experience.
