About the Subaru BRZ ZD8

The second-generation Subaru BRZ (ZD8) addresses the primary criticism of its predecessor by introducing a larger 2.4-litre FA24 boxer engine, eliminating the infamous mid-range torque dip. Developed alongside the Toyota GR86, it retains the classic front-engine, rear-drive layout and a focus on lightweight agility rather than outright power. The ZD8 features a 50% increase in torsional rigidity and a lower centre of gravity, further refining its celebrated handling characteristics. While not officially sold in the UK market due to emissions regulations, it remains a benchmark for affordable, purist sports cars globally.
