Renault R.S.20
Renault's last Formula One car before the Alpine rebrand, and the one that returned the works team to the podium.
About the Renault R.S.20
The R.S.20 was designed by a group including Nick Chester, Martin Tolliday and Dirk de Beer, with Marcin Budkowski overseeing the project and Rémi Taffin leading the power unit work, and it was the last car Chester designed for the team. Its debut was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic until the 2020 Austrian Grand Prix, and it was raced by Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon. Ricciardo scored Renault's first podium since its return to Formula One at the 2020 Eifel Grand Prix, and Ocon took his first career podium at the Sakhir Grand Prix. Under the cost-saving agreement that carried 2020 cars into 2021, the design was updated and raced the following year as the Alpine A521.

Renault R.S.20 rarity in CarSpot
The Renault R.S.20 is a Unicorn card in CarSpot, with a rarity score of 0 out of 100. The rarest tier: hypercars, one-offs and cars built in tiny numbers, typically fewer than about 500. A Unicorn card is worth 320 XP.
Each model's tier starts from a 0–100 score based on its value plus its power or production numbers. Once enough players have spotted a model, how often it is spotted can move it up or down one tier. How CarSpot rarity works
Rarity is a collectible game mechanic, not an assessment of real-world scarcity or value.
Renault R.S.20 fun facts
- Renault boss Cyril Abiteboul had bet Daniel Ricciardo he would get a tattoo if Ricciardo scored a podium, and he eventually honoured the bet after the Eifel Grand Prix result.
- Renault said before the delayed 2020 opener that it would not upgrade the E-Tech 20 during the season, so the same specification ran all year, including in customer McLarens.
