About the Red Bull Racing RB8

The RB8 was Red Bull's 2012 car, designed under Adrian Newey and raced by reigning champion Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. Like most 2012 cars it had a stepped nose, with a slot Newey said was only for driver cooling, and the FIA forced changes to its floor and engine mapping during the year. It won first in Bahrain, Webber won at Monaco and Silverstone, and an alternator failure stopped Vettel while leading at Valencia. A double-DRS system added in Singapore was credited with helping Vettel win there and in Japan, and the car took seven wins and eight poles on the way to both titles.
