About the Red Bull Racing RB10
Adrian Newey's RB10 was built around Renault's new 1.6-litre Energy F1-2014 V6 turbo hybrid, but a troubled winter saw it complete less running at the first Jerez test than any other team, as tight packaging made temperatures climb until parts began to burn. Reigning champion Sebastian Vettel was joined by Daniel Ricciardo, promoted from Toro Rosso to replace the retiring Mark Webber. Ricciardo had his first podium, at his home race in Australia, taken away over illegal fuel flow, but went on to win in Canada, Hungary and Belgium. Red Bull finished second in the Constructors' Championship, with Ricciardo third in the drivers' standings ahead of Vettel, who failed to win a race or take a pole position as defending champion.
