Red Bull Racing RB3

Adrian Newey's first design for Red Bull, quick over a lap but let down by its new seamless-shift gearbox.

About the Red Bull Racing RB3

The RB3 was the first Red Bull designed by Adrian Newey and switched the team to Renault RS27 engines after its Ferrari supply moved to Toro Rosso. Because Red Bull Technology supplied the same design to Toro Rosso, Williams and Spyker argued that the cars breached the Concorde Agreement, though the FIA declared them legal for 2007. Mark Webber started in the top 11 on eleven occasions, but poor reliability, above all from the new seamless-shift gearbox, cost both drivers points. Webber took the car's only podium in changeable conditions at the European Grand Prix, and David Coulthard's best result was fourth in Japan.
