About the Nissan Xterra N50
The second-generation Nissan Xterra (N50) debuted for the 2005 model year, moving to the robust F-Alpha ladder-frame platform shared with the Titan and Frontier. Designed in California, it prioritised utility over luxury, featuring a distinctive stepped roofline and a washable plastic-lined cargo area. The 4.0-litre VQ40DE V6 provided a significant power boost over its predecessor, making it surprisingly quick for a body-on-frame SUV. It remains a cult favourite among overlanding enthusiasts for its mechanical simplicity and genuine off-road capability.
