About the Nissan Leaf ZE0
Launched in 2010, the Nissan Leaf (ZE0) was a landmark in automotive history as the first purpose-built, mass-produced electric car for the global market. Its 24 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, mounted under the floor, provided a low centre of gravity that resulted in surprisingly stable handling for a family hatchback. While its real-world range of approximately 73 miles (EPA) was modest, the instant torque from its electric motor made it an ideal city commuter. Today, it is valued as a pioneering EV, though buyers must carefully monitor battery health and degradation.
