About the Mitsubishi Savrin
The Mitsubishi Savrin was a pivotal model for the Taiwanese market, produced by China Motor Corporation (CMC) as a locally adapted version of the Chariot Grandis. Launched in 2001, it quickly became a dominant force in the domestic MPV segment, marketed with a focus on family values and 'the feeling of home'. The 2.4-litre variant utilised the 4G64 GDI engine, providing a balance of torque and efficiency suited for Taiwan's urban and mountainous terrain. While mechanically similar to its Japanese counterpart, the Savrin featured unique interior appointments and styling tweaks to suit local tastes, maintaining a long production life through multiple facelifts.
