About the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR
The CLK GTR is a pure homologation special, developed in just 128 days to compete in the FIA GT1 class. Unlike its rival, the McLaren F1, the Mercedes was designed as a racing car first and then minimally adapted for road use, retaining the carbon-fibre monocoque and mid-mounted V12 from the competition variant. It offers a visceral, uncompromising driving experience with a sequential gearbox that requires a foot clutch for starting but uses steering-column paddles for shifts. Its extreme rarity and motorsport pedigree make it one of the most significant and valuable modern-era collector cars.
