Mercedes-AMG F1 W17 E Performance
Mercedes' pace-setter of 2026, in which 20-year-old Kimi Antonelli became the youngest world champion in Formula One history.
About the Mercedes-AMG F1 W17 E Performance
Overseen by James Allison, the W17 was Mercedes' first car for the 2026 regulations, and its power unit drew controversy over a compression-ratio loophole that allowed a higher ratio when hot than when measured at ambient temperature. It opened the season with a one-two in Australia led by George Russell, and Kimi Antonelli then won from pole in China, becoming the youngest polesitter in Formula One history. By the Mexico City Grand Prix it had won 12 of the season's 19 rounds. Antonelli clinched the 2026 Drivers' Championship in Mexico City, with Mercedes leading the Constructors' standings on 630 points.
