About the McLaren Solus GT
The McLaren Solus GT is a track-only hypercar that originated as the 'Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo' concept for the Gran Turismo Sport video game. It is the first McLaren customer car to feature a naturally aspirated V10 engine, a bespoke 5.2-litre unit developed with Judd Power that serves as a stressed member of the chassis. The single-seat cockpit is accessed via a sliding fighter-jet style canopy, placing the driver in a central position reminiscent of a Formula 1 car. With extreme ground-effect aerodynamics, it generates 1,200kg of downforce, exceeding its own kerb weight.

McLaren Solus GT rarity in CarSpot
The McLaren Solus GT is a Unicorn card in CarSpot, with a rarity score of 100 out of 100. The rarest tier: hypercars, one-offs and cars built in tiny numbers, typically fewer than about 500. A Unicorn card is worth 320 XP.
Each model's tier starts from a 0–100 score based on its value plus its power or production numbers. Once enough players have spotted a model, how often it is spotted can move it up or down one tier. How CarSpot rarity works
Rarity is a collectible game mechanic, not an assessment of real-world scarcity or value.
McLaren Solus GT fun facts
- The Solus GT's V10 engine is entirely gear-driven, meaning it contains no belts or chains for its camshafts or ancillary systems.
- It generates more downforce (1,200kg) than the car actually weighs (1,000kg), theoretically allowing it to drive upside down on a ceiling at high speed.
- Each of the 25 owners received a bespoke FIA-homologated racing suit, helmet, HANS device, and a custom-moulded driver's seat.
