About the McLaren Sabre
Commissioned by a select group of American collectors through McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the Sabre is a bespoke hypercar based on the Senna chassis but featuring 70% unique parts. It was designed specifically for the US market, allowing engineers to bypass global homologation rules and implement more aggressive aerodynamic features, including a massive LMP-style longitudinal fin. The Sabre is the fastest two-seater McLaren ever produced, prioritising a more compliant ride for road use compared to the track-focused Senna. Each of the 15 examples was co-developed with its owner, ensuring no two cars are identical.

McLaren Sabre rarity in CarSpot
The McLaren Sabre is a Unicorn card in CarSpot, with a rarity score of 100 out of 100. The rarest tier: hypercars, one-offs and cars built in tiny numbers, typically fewer than about 500. A Unicorn card is worth 320 XP.
Each model's tier starts from a 0–100 score based on its value plus its power or production numbers. Once enough players have spotted a model, how often it is spotted can move it up or down one tier. How CarSpot rarity works
Rarity is a collectible game mechanic, not an assessment of real-world scarcity or value.
McLaren Sabre fun facts
- The Sabre was developed under the codename BC-03 and was inspired by the McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo concept.
- Because it was only homologated for the US, McLaren could use 'ideas and innovations' that wouldn't pass European or Asian regulations.
- Owners were involved in the development process, including test-driving prototypes at the Thermal Club in California to provide feedback to Woking.
