McLaren MP4/14

The fastest car of 1999, which kept Mika Häkkinen champion even as unreliability handed the constructors' crown to Ferrari.

Power
785 bhp

About the McLaren MP4/14

Designed by Neil Oatley and Henri Durand under Adrian Newey, the MP4/14 refined the 1998 title winner with more advanced aerodynamics and the Mercedes-Benz FO110H V10 from Mario Illien, still the most powerful engine on the grid. It was the fastest car of the season, taking 11 poles and seven wins. Serious reliability problems and driver errors let Ferrari win the Constructors' Championship, but Mika Häkkinen won the drivers' title for the second year running. Like its predecessor, it had four paddles behind the wheel, two to select gears and two that let the driver work the clutch with either hand.
