About the Lincoln LS

The Lincoln LS was a bold departure for the brand, designed to challenge European executive sedans like the BMW 5 Series. Built on the Ford DEW98 platform shared with the Jaguar S-Type and Ford Thunderbird, it featured a sophisticated rear-wheel-drive layout and near 50/50 weight distribution. For 2002, the 3.0-litre V6 received a power bump to 220 hp, though it remained the entry-level choice compared to the 3.9-litre V8. While it earned critical acclaim for its handling and ride quality, it struggled to overcome Lincoln's traditional image and was eventually discontinued after a single generation.
