About the Lagonda Rapide
The Lagonda Rapide was David Brown's attempt to revive the Lagonda marque as a luxury four-door brand. It utilized a lengthened Aston Martin DB4 chassis and a 4.0-litre version of the Tadek Marek-designed straight-six engine, which would later appear in the DB5. The car featured De Dion tube rear suspension and a luxurious interior with picnic tables and Connolly leather. Despite its performance and pedigree, the high price tag and polarizing styling resulted in extremely low production numbers, making it one of the rarest post-war British luxury cars.
