About the Jeep Wagoneer SJ
The Jeep Wagoneer SJ is widely regarded as the first true luxury 4x4, remaining in production for nearly three decades with minimal styling changes. Designed by Brooks Stevens, it combined a rugged truck-based chassis with the comfort and amenities of a premium station wagon. The 1975 model year featured the 360 cubic-inch AMC V8 and the innovative Quadra-Trac full-time four-wheel-drive system. Collectors prize these early AMC-era examples for their classic 'egg-crate' grilles and the introduction of the iconic woodgrain side panelling that became a Wagoneer hallmark.
