About the Ineos Grenadier
Conceived by Ineos chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe in a London pub, the Grenadier is a purpose-built off-roader designed to prioritise utility over lifestyle luxury. It features a galvanised steel ladder chassis, beam axles, and a BMW-sourced B57 straight-six diesel engine tuned for low-end torque rather than outright speed. The interior blends modern tech with physical switches designed for use with gloves, reflecting its workhorse intentions. While its recirculating ball steering and heavy kerb weight make it agricultural on tarmac, it is exceptionally capable in extreme terrain.
