About the Gumpert Apollo
The Gumpert Apollo was the brainchild of Roland Gumpert, a former Audi Sport director who oversaw the brand's WRC dominance. Engineered for maximum downforce, its design prioritised function over form, featuring a mid-mounted Audi-sourced 4.2-litre V8 heavily modified with twin turbochargers. It gained international fame by setting a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record of 7:11.57 in 2009, proving its engineering pedigree. The driving experience is visceral and uncompromising, lacking modern driver aids and featuring a cramped, race-focused cockpit.
