About the Fiat Sedici
Co-developed with Suzuki and built alongside the SX4 in Hungary, the Fiat Sedici was one of the first modern subcompact crossovers. Its name, meaning 'sixteen' in Italian, is a play on its 4x4 drivetrain (4x4=16). Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, it offered a selectable three-mode all-wheel-drive system (2WD, Auto, and Lock) that provided surprising off-road capability for its size. While the 1.6-litre petrol engine requires high revs to perform, the car's compact dimensions and raised driving position made it a practical choice for both urban and rural European environments.
