About the Ferrari 288 GTO
The 288 GTO was developed to homologate Ferrari for the FIA's legendary Group B circuit racing category. While it shares a silhouette with the 308 GTB, it is a vastly different machine featuring a longitudinal twin-turbocharged V8 and a chassis extended by 110mm. The cancellation of Group B meant the GTO never competed, but its lightweight Kevlar and carbon-fibre construction set the template for the F40. As the first of the 'Big Five' Ferrari flagships, it remains one of the most coveted and rarest driver's cars in the marque's history.
