About the Citroën LNA
The Citroën LNA was a significant milestone in the formation of PSA Peugeot Citroën, being a badge-engineered version of the Peugeot 104 Z. While early models used the two-cylinder engine from the 2CV, the 1.1-litre 'Athlétique' (LNA) variants introduced in 1982 brought much-needed refinement and a top speed of nearly 90 mph. It shared its bodyshell and most mechanicals with the 104 and the Talbot Samba, representing a pragmatic shift away from Citroën's traditional idiosyncratic engineering. Today, it is a rare sight on European roads, valued by collectors for its simplicity and role in French automotive history.

Citroën LNA fun facts
- The 'A' in LNA stands for 'Athlétique', distinguishing the four-cylinder models from the original two-cylinder LN.
- Despite its Citroën branding, the 1.1-litre engine was actually a Peugeot 'Douvrin' unit shared with the 104.
- The LNA was so similar to the Peugeot 104 that it was often referred to as a 'rebadged' car, a move that initially worried Citroën purists.
