About the BYD Dolphin Surf
The BYD Dolphin Surf was introduced to the European market in 2025 as a more compact, city-oriented alternative to the standard Dolphin hatchback. Built on the e-Platform 3.0, the Surf model features a shorter wheelbase and a 43.2 kWh Blade Battery, utilizing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry for enhanced safety and longevity. The Comfort trim represents the high-performance variant of this smaller chassis, pairing the lightweight body with a 115 kW motor. It offers a practical urban range of approximately 193 miles (WLTP) and includes a heat pump as standard to maintain efficiency in colder climates. Inside, it retains BYD's signature 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen and a high level of standard safety equipment.
