About the Bentley Continental R Mulliner
Introduced at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show, the Continental R Mulliner was the pinnacle of the SZ-generation Bentley coupés. It combined the standard-wheelbase 'wide-body' shell of the Continental R with the uprated 420 bhp engine and stiffened suspension from the short-wheelbase Continental T. Hand-built at Crewe before the Volkswagen era fully took hold, it represents the final evolution of the traditional 6.75-litre V8 grand tourer. Its massive torque provides effortless, locomotive-like acceleration, while the Mulliner-specific flared arches and mesh grille distinguish it as a rare collector's piece.
