About the Benetton B200
Drawn by new chief designer Tim Densham, who replaced Nick Wirth, the B200 sought a return to basics after the complex and often unreliable B199. It used the Supertec-built FB02 V10, badged as a Playlife and still based on Renault's RS9, and was launched in January 2000 at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. Giancarlo Fisichella scored three podiums, second in Brazil after David Coulthard's disqualification and then at Monaco and in Canada, while Alexander Wurz did not score until fifth at Monza. Benetton finished fourth in the constructors' championship, level with BAR on 20 points but ahead on Fisichella's podium finishes.
