The first car designed solely in-house by BAR, launched at Brackley as David Richards and Prodrive took charge.

About the BAR 004

Malcolm Oastler designed the 004 entirely in-house after BAR's three-year design agreement with Reynard ended, and it carried Honda's new RA002E V10. Jacques Villeneuve and Olivier Panis had a dismal season, and BAR were the only team without a point by the British Grand Prix. Mixed wet-dry conditions at Silverstone brought fourth for Villeneuve and fifth for Panis, and sixth places for Panis at Monza and Villeneuve at Indianapolis completed the tally. The team recorded 17 retirements, mostly through unreliability, and finished eighth in the constructors' championship with seven points.

BAR 004 rarity in CarSpot

The BAR 004 is a Unicorn card in CarSpot, with a rarity score of 42 out of 100. The rarest tier: hypercars, one-offs and cars built in tiny numbers, typically fewer than about 500. A Unicorn card is worth 320 XP.

Each model's tier starts from a 0–100 score based on its value plus its power or production numbers. Once enough players have spotted a model, how often it is spotted can move it up or down one tier. How CarSpot rarity works

Rarity is a collectible game mechanic, not an assessment of real-world scarcity or value.
