About the Aston Martin Lagonda
Designed by William Towns, the Series 2 Lagonda was a radical departure from traditional luxury car design, featuring a razor-sharp 'folded paper' silhouette. It was the first production car to feature a digital instrument cluster and touch-sensitive controls, though these early electronics were notoriously temperamental. Under the hand-beaten aluminium body sat a Tadek Marek-designed V8, providing effortless grand touring performance. Despite its polarizing looks and high price, it saved Aston Martin from financial ruin in the late 1970s.
