About the Williams FW43B
The FW43B was Williams' development of the FW43 for 2021, raced under the rules that carried 2020 chassis over and powered by the Mercedes-AMG F1 M12 E Performance. Its livery paid homage to the team's past and to founder Sir Frank Williams, and it was the first Williams to contest a full season without the Williams family managing the team. George Russell regularly challenged for the top ten in qualifying, and the first points came in Hungary, where Nicholas Latifi and Russell were classified seventh and eighth after Sebastian Vettel's disqualification. At the Belgian Grand Prix Russell qualified second in the wet and was classified second when the race was abandoned after three laps behind the safety car, giving Williams its first podium since 2017.
