About the Williams FW38
Williams' 2016 car was developed under chief technical officer Pat Symonds and powered by the Mercedes PU106C Hybrid, with Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas partnering each other for a third season. It was competitive early in the year, with both drivers scoring through the first half of the season, and it was exceptionally fast in a straight line. A lack of upgrades later left it unable to keep pace with Ferrari, Force India and Red Bull, and Williams lost fourth place in the Constructors' Championship to Force India. The FW38 took one podium during the season.
