About the Williams FW28
The FW28 was Williams's 2006 car, its first with V8 power since the FW12 of 1988, using Cosworth's CA2006 engine and Bridgestone tyres. Mark Webber was joined by GP2 champion Nico Rosberg, and both scored points in the opening race in Bahrain. A handling problem on corner entry and poor reliability undermined the season, with both cars suffering engine failures in Malaysia after a strong qualifying, and Webber retiring from podium contention in Australia and Monaco. Williams finished eighth in the Constructors' Championship, its lowest position since its first season.
