About the Williams FW11B

The FW11B was a lightly updated FW11 with Honda's RA167E turbo V6, run under a new 4.0-bar boost limit, and it won nine races and the 1987 Constructors' title. Nigel Mansell won six times, including a pass on Nelson Piquet for the lead at Silverstone with three laps left, but Piquet's consistency won him the title after Mansell crashed heavily in practice in Japan. Williams also developed its own computer-controlled active suspension, called Williams Reactive Ride, which Piquet first raced at Monza and won with from pole. It was the last Williams with a Honda engine and the last turbocharged Williams until the FW36 of 2014.
