About the Volvo EC40
Introduced in early 2024, the Volvo EC40 is a rebranding of the C40 Recharge, part of a strategy to align Volvo's electric model names with the EX30 and EX90. The Single Motor Plus trim serves as the entry-level variant, featuring a 69kWh battery and a rear-wheel-drive configuration that replaced the earlier front-wheel-drive setup for improved efficiency and handling. It retains the distinctive sloping coupé roofline of its predecessor, sacrificing some rear headroom for a more aerodynamic and athletic silhouette. Inside, the cabin is entirely leather-free, reflecting Volvo's sustainability goals, and is powered by a Google-based infotainment system.
