About the Vauxhall Signum
The Vauxhall Signum was a bold attempt by General Motors to redefine the executive segment by replacing the traditional saloon with a high-specification, long-wheelbase hatchback. Based on the Epsilon platform shared with the Vectra, it featured a wheelbase stretched by 13cm to provide rear passengers with limousine-like legroom and adjustable 'FlexSpace' seating. Despite its clever packaging and refined 1.9-litre CDTi diesel engine, the Signum struggled to find an audience, often being dismissed as an overpriced Vectra. Today, it remains a rare sight on UK roads, valued by a small niche of owners for its unique blend of practicality and understated comfort.
