Racing Point RP20
Nicknamed the 'Pink Mercedes', Racing Point's last car was as controversial as it was quick.
About the Racing Point RP20
Racing Point described the RP20 as an evolution of the RP19, but in pre-season testing it drew attention for its close resemblance to the title-winning 2019 Mercedes W10. Renault protested its rear brake ducts, and the FIA ruled that, because they were based on Mercedes CAD drawings, their design process breached the sporting regulations, fining the team and deducting 15 constructors' points. On track the Mercedes-powered car was competitive: Lance Stroll scored the team's first podium at the Italian Grand Prix and its first pole in Turkey, and Sergio Pérez won the Sakhir Grand Prix. Although it scored the third-highest points total, the deduction left Racing Point fourth in the Constructors' Championship, behind McLaren.
